Newsletter & e-mail

We will send you a standard newsletter by email on a regular basis. This is drawn up by ROBBY FISH BV and sent via a third party, namely YourMailingListProvider.

We have never purchased e-mail addresses, these were obtained in the past with your permission, via an email to our [email protected] contact or via a written registration form in the store.

YourMailingListProvider is a permission-based e-mailing service.

Users can use their account to send e-mail newsletters and announcements to people who have given their consent.

Permission OK:

E-mail addresses collected through an e-mail newsletter subscription form on your website.
Your customers or people who have given you their e-mail address to receive information from you.
Members of your organization or association.
No permission:

Lists of e-mail addresses that have been purchased or rented.
Lists of e-mail addresses collected from forums, newsgroups or other web pages.
Any other possible lists of e-mail addresses from a "third party".
https://www.ymlp.com/en/antispam_policy.html

Unsubscribing from the newsletter is easy and can be done at any time. You can do this yourself via the link at the bottom of the newsletter. For example, your name and e-mail address will be deleted from the mailing list (via the provider YMLP) and no longer kept in custody.

Security, wifi & cameras

Wifi and cameras:

The ROBBY FISH BV store is equipped with cameras. This is important for your safety and that of our employees and products. We do not store camera images of our store for longer than 4 weeks. Unless we see something suspicious that we should investigate further whether we need to keep the images longer due to another legal obligation.

Feel free to use our free wifi in the store. When you use our Wi-Fi network, data is collected from the device you use to log in, including the MAC address (identification number). This information is only used by us to prevent misuse. We block access of the device if illegal activities take place on our Wi-Fi network.

Security:

Sometimes we need to use customer data to investigate, prevent and combat fraud. This is in the interest of ROBBY FISH BV and all customers. When someone makes a suspicion, we will pass that person's information to government authorities.

Business customer:

As a business customer, we ask you for all information listed under "Ordering". In addition, we need your company name, legal form and VAT number to register you as a business customer and to draw up an appropriate invoice.

Who has access to your data?

We will only pass on your data to other parties when it applies to our services.

It only concerns these external parties:

Courier service
Suppliers (when there is a warranty or repair)
Payment partners - platform
IT service provider
Accountancy
Government
Processor of the newsletters
The courier service must be able to deliver your order to the correct address. Repairing a fishing rod or a reel is sometimes not done in-house and it has to be returned to the supplier so that he can repair the damage. This is the only way to get the correct repair back to us.

In suspicious situations, we are obliged to share customer data with government authorities.

The parties who gain access to your data may only use it to provide you with a service on behalf of ROBBY FISH BV. Unless the party itself is responsible for obtaining and protecting your data.

ROBBY FISH BV will never sell or distribute your data to third parties.

Where are your data stored?

We keep your data in only 1 database. We always use strict security measures. Your data is always stored on a server within the European Union.

How long will your data be kept?

We do not store and use your data longer than necessary. We then delete all data we have about you.

How is the processing done? We adhere to certain deadlines, after which we delete your data.

They are:

We do not store camera images of our stores for longer than 4 weeks. Unless we see something suspicious that we should have further investigated whether the images should be kept longer due to another legal obligation.
We delete inactive customer accounts after 7 years.
The Belgian government (tax authorities) requires us to keep the administration with your invoice, payment and order data for 7 years. You must also keep the invoices for your purchases yourself, in connection with the warranty.
When you have a product repaired or replaced by ROBBY FISH BV, we will keep your report and contact details for a maximum of 7 years.
If you have registered for the newsletter (which is sent via the provider YMLP), we will keep that consent for 5 years. Even if at a certain point you decide that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter or personalized messages, we also keep the withdrawal of your request.
We do not keep the correspondence mails that you send to us and receive from us for longer than 60 days.
Keep data we use to prevent fraud for as long as necessary.

What are your rights?

Of course you remain in charge of your data. Would you like to view your personal data and receive a copy? Or do you want to change, delete, restrict use or adjust your e-mail preferences? No problem. You can do this yourself in your ROBBY FISH account or let us know by post or e-mail. In this way you can also object to the use of your data or indicate that you think your privacy outweighs the importance of the processing for your order or after-service. In that case, we will review the situation.
